Meet our Board of Directors

Chairman
Dr. Joseph A. F. Chase, Jr.
He is the owner of the Christian Broadcasting Company, consisting of several radio stations throughout the United States. He is also a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated. Bishop Chase is serving his fourth 4-year term as a member of the National Board of Trustees of the Church of God in Christ, where he oversees a multi- million-dollar annual budget. He has held the positions of Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Superintendent of National Properties, Secretary of the National Publishing Board, member of the Constitutional Committee of the General Assembly and National Overseer. As a member of the Virginia Fourth Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, Bishop Chase is Second Administrative Assistant to Bishop G. Wesley Hardy Sr., Chairman of the Budget Committee and Founder of the Solid Rock District. He was appointed by Governor Glenn Youngkin to the Virginia African American Advisory Board in 2022. Additionally, Bishop Chase was appointed to the Virginia State University Board of Visitors by Governor Glenn Youngkin effective July 1, 2023.

Secretary
Ayanna James
The Chief Executive Officer of two Virginia-based companies, SUNJAM Cares LLC. and SUNJAM Workforce LLC. James is experienced in corporate strategic planning, intergovernmental affairs, partnership building, project management, and fund development. She serves on Becoming Beloved Community at Old Donation Episcopal Church, where she spearheads efforts to bridge the historical gap in racial relations between blacks, whites, and Native Americans. James is a member of the Republican Party of Virginia Beach, Hampton Roads Black Caucus, and Virginia Ship Repair Association. James serves on the Advisory Board of the Virginia African American Cultural Center. James holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences Education from the University of Florida and is currently pursuing an Executive MBA at the College of William & Mary's Raymond A. Mason School of Business. She is a wife to a Navy veteran and a mother of three.

Treasurer
Sheila Adams
A Navy Cryptologic Technician Veteran, Wife and Mother of 9 children. She holds an Associate of Arts degree, served as a Homeschooling teacher for 29 years, taught 10 years of Crisis Pregnancy Center for Expecting Parents classes, Graduate, then Mentor of Foundations of Faith Leadership Institute leaders for 6 years, trained by and served Toastmasters Public Speaking training, and leadership for 8 years, trained altar counselor, member of R.E.A.C.H. (a community ministering ministry) and a strong advocate for Parental Rights.

Hon. Aijalon "A.C." Cordoza
A former Intelligence Analyst in the United States Air Force, Cybersecurity Analyst at Newport News Shipbuilding, and Member of the Virginia House of Delegates, appointed to the Communications, Technology and Innovation Committee, Public Safety Committee, Courts of Justice Commitee, the Joint Commission on Technology and Science, the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Commission, the Fort Monroe Authority Board of Trustees, and the Secure and Resilient Commonwealth Panel.

William E. "Bill" Curtis
The Assistant Director of Housing and Community Development for Commonwealth of Virginia and a retired Navy Supply Corps Captain. Curtis is a graduate of Savannah State University, holds a master’s degree from the United States Naval War College and is a member of the Alpha Phi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity representing Norfolk-Virginia Beach. Formerly the chairman of the Board of Directors of STOP, Inc., a member of the Hampton Roads Black Caucus (HRBC) Board of Directors, member of Virginia Beach Military Economic Development Advisory Committee (MEDAC), serves as the Chairman of the Republican Party of Virginia Beach (RPVB), a member of the Republican Party of Virginia State Central Committee and Mr. Curtis is the President and owner of Aulatim Management Consultants, LLC.

Hon. Tanya Gould
The Anti-Human Trafficking Director for the Virginia Commonwealth Attorney General's Office. Gould serves on Governor Youngkin’s Commission on Human Trafficking Prevention and Survivor Support and held two terms on the U.S. Advisory Council on Human trafficking. In January of 2022 the U.S. Secretary of State, awarded Gould the Presidential Award for Extraordinary Efforts to Combat Trafficking in Persons, Gould is the 1st Survivor Advocate to receive this award. Gould has served as a consultant to various anti human trafficking organizations, including the Department of Justice’s Office for Victims of Crime, Department of Homeland Security’s Blue Campaign, and the U.S. State Department's Trafficking in Persons office. Gould serves on boards and organizations such as The Polaris Project, Beloved Haven, and Parliamentary Intelligence-Security Forum Taskforce on Human Trafficking.
